Brisbane Pride has announced the organisations and community groups across Queensland that will share in $94,500 in grants to support Pride festivals, community events and grassroots initiatives that uplift, empower and celebrate Queensland’s LGBTQIA+ communities.
A total of $83,500 has been awarded through the Queensland Pride Grants program, supporting Pride festivals and community initiatives across regional and metropolitan Queensland, and a further $11,000 has been awarded through the Brisbane Pride Community Grants Program to support 11 grassroots projects.
Established in 2010, Brisbane Pride Community Grants continue a legacy of inclusion, equity and community empowerment. Aligned with the Brisbane Pride Strategy 2025–2028, these grants reflect Brisbane Pride’s long term commitment to amplifying LGBTQIA+ voices, strengthening community connections and supporting the wellbeing of every member of the community.
“Pride is about more than one day or one event. It is about creating opportunities for people to come together, build connections, celebrate who they are and ensure that LGBTIQ+ communities are visible and valued right across Queensland,” said Brisbane Pride President James McCarthy.
“Through the Brisbane Pride Community Grants and Queensland Pride Grants, we are helping community organisations turn their ideas into action — from regional Pride festivals and community celebrations to programs supporting young people, culturally diverse communities, trans and gender diverse people and those experiencing isolation.”
This year’s Brisbane Pride Community Grants include $1,500 to headspace Ipswich to support Rainbow Chaos Springfield, a community development initiative providing connection and support for LGBTQIA+ young people in the Ipswich region.
Sparks on the Spectrum will receive $1,000 to support an accessible social connection group for neurodivergent LGBTQIA+, Sistergirl and Brotherboy people, while QTrans will receive $1,000 to deliver Queer CALD Connections: Creating Community, Strength and Pride, supporting queer migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and other culturally and linguistically diverse community members.
Other successful Brisbane Pride Community Grant recipients include QLD Camping Bears, Free Mum Hugs, Trans and Gender Diverse Kids Australia, The Late Blooming Lounge, The Boot Co Brisbane Leather Denim Uniform Club, Lucent Flow & Gold Coast Pride Collective, Queensland Leather Pride and Brisbears Social Club.
Brisbane Pride is also proud to announce $83,500 in Queensland Pride Grants supporting LGBTIQ+ communities and initiatives across Queensland and delivered with funding from the Queensland Government.
The grants include $15,000 to Gurambilbarra Townsville Pride Collective to support community development through a regional Pride festival; $15,000 to Cairns Pride Inc to support the annual Cairns Pride Festival; and $16,500 to Sunshine Coast Pride Network to establish and deliver its new Community Pride Picnic.
Gold Coast Pride Collective will receive $15,000 to support Gold Coast Pride Fair Day 2027, as well as $3,000 to deliver Trans Formal 2027, while Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre will receive $1,500 to establish the Palm Beach Pride Collective.
Other Queensland Pride Grant recipients include Rainbow on the Reef Limited, which will receive $6,000 to support the Rainbow on the Reef Pride Festival in Gladstone; Queensland LGBTQIA+ Alliance, which will receive $6,000 to support a regional LGBTQIA+ Sector Forum in Cairns; and gar’ban’djee’lum network, which will receive $5,500 to support the 2026 Black Pride Queer Celebration.
