The 2026 Gold Coast Pride Fair Day has been hailed a resounding success, with thousands of people gathering at HOTA, Home of the Arts on Saturday 27 June for the largest celebration of LGBTQIA+ pride on the Gold Coast.
Held at HOTA for the very first time, the event welcomed community members, families, allies and visitors from across South East Queensland for a day filled with entertainment, community connection and celebration.
Under perfect Gold Coast winter skies, attendees enjoyed dozens of community and market stalls, live entertainment, food vendors, the ever-popular Pet Pageant and a packed main stage hosted by local drag favourite Bebe Gunn.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the Gold Coast Pride Drag Pageant, with Elle Would taking out top honours following a spectacular showcase of local drag talent.
Gold Coast Pride Collective President Michael James said the overwhelming turnout demonstrated the strength and vibrancy of the local LGBTQIA+ community.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the turn out for the 2026 Gold Coast Pride Fair Day. Seeing so many people turn out in droves to celebrate our community together was a true testament to the spirit and community we share on the Gold Coast,” he said.
“We proved that the move to HOTA, the Home Of The Arts was the perfect decision for this iconic event. The venue presented the perfect backdrop for this important community event.”
“We can’t wait to start planning for 2027 and hope that we can return again to this wonderful venue. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported this important event,” said Michael.
The successful event marks a significant milestone for Gold Coast Pride, with the move to HOTA providing expanded space, improved accessibility and a picturesque setting for the community celebration.
