Qtopia Sydney will once again be part of the beating heart of Sydney Fringe Festival, hosting the official Queer Hub throughout September 2025.
For a full month, Qtopia Sydney’s performance spaces, the Loading Dock Theatre and The Substation, will transform into a dedicated home for LGBTQIA+ voices, showcasing more than 30 performances of theatre, cabaret, comedy and music that speak directly to Queer identity, creativity and community.
Following a successful debut in 2024, Queer Hub 2025 expands Qtopia Sydney’s role as a central platform for diverse and independent Queer artistry, embedding LGBTQIA+ stories within the city’s largest independent arts festival. Program highlights include: –
- Queens Out (Verb) – A comedy-drag variety fever dream from Hollywood starring Annie & Lorelei
- B-Cup: The Bressed Story – starring RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under’s Brenda Bressed
- Confessions of a Drama Queen – featuring Carla Field, Alexis Hutchinson & Jared Jekyll
- Type A Marketing Man
- Stop the Heart
- Let’s Unpack That – featuring original music by ARIA Award-winner Montaigne alongside Kate Wilkins and Nick Harriot
“Qtopia Sydney exists to preserve, celebrate and share Queer stories, and being the Queer Hub for Sydney Fringe Festival is a natural extension of that mission,” said Artistic & Programs Director Qtopia Sydney, Carly Fisher. “This program gives LGBTQIA+ artists a stage to create, experiment and connect, while offering audiences a space to come together and celebrate who we are.”
Now in its 15th year, the Sydney Fringe Festival presents more than 450 events across 70+ venues each September. The Queer Hub at Qtopia Sydney ensures Queer artistry has a visible and celebrated presence within the broader festival, while situating Qtopia Sydney as a cultural anchor in Sydney’s creative landscape.
The Queer Hub at Qtopia Sydney continues to 27 September 2025. For more information and full program, visit: www.qtopiasydney.com.au for details.
