Move over Fifi & Dave, Fitzy and Wippa and Hughesy and Kate – The Lord Mayor of Melbourne and the “real” Queen of Moomba are Melbourne’s next hit radio due.
The Lord Mayor Robert Doyle and Dolly Diamond will premier the Doyle and Dolly Show during the 2015 JOY Radiothon to prove that they have what it takes to be the next big thing on Melbourne’s airwaves. With a stellar line up of guests, glamorous hosts and more gags than Melbourne has cafes – what could go wrong?
Lord Mayor Robert Doyle believes he will be a natural at radio and will outshine his diamond of a co-host Dolly.
“After 25 years in public life, finally the radio highlight of my career. I suspect I may have to carry Dolly and therefore I’ll be expecting her to shed a few kilos before the date,” Says Robert Doyle.
Dolly Diamond disagrees: “The Lord Mayor may know how to run a city, but when it comes to radio, he’s putty in y hands. #Dolly4Mayor2016”
The Doyle and Dolly Show is being recorded as a special 2015 JOY Radiothon event to help raise money for Joy 94.9, Australia’s largest LGBTIQ community radio station. Joy 94.9 is run only through the support of members and volunteers and receives no government funding.
The 2015 JOY Radiothon will run for a one week from Friday 29 May. For more information, visit: www.joy.org.au for details.
