Following her recent critically acclaimed romp in Perth as part of the 2017 Fringe World Festival, Dolly Diamond (UK) brings her hilarious, anti-chauvinism war cry of a cabaret, The Lady is a Tramp to town this February for her debut season at the Adelaide Fringe.
With tales of her life, loves and lascivious behaviour, The Lady is a Tramp is about female empowerment and taking those words back – because Diamond is only a tramp when she says so, and when she wants to be.
“I’m excited to get back to Adelaide and perform,” says Diamond. “I’ve not been there since doing the Feast Festival quite a few years ago. The recent reaction in Perth was great, I’m confident with the show… so bring it on I say. I feel like I’m doing some of the best work of my career and I’m loving the reaction.”
A world-class comedienne, Dolly Diamond is an audience favourite from Melbourne to Mandurah and back again. This diva sings live, covering artists from Alanis Morissette to Doris Day, combining comic timing and lyrical rewrites with razor-sharp wit. She promises her audiences will leave her show with comeback lines good enough to combat the burliest of bigots.
A life of guts, glitz and glamour, Dolly Diamond is not to be missed in this big night of laugh-out-lewd comedy as part of the 2017 Adelaide Fringe.
“She’s quick with witty riposte and a loving put-down, and the audience laps it up. Dolly is no Diamond in the rough, but a rare and polished stone that lights up any room she’s in.” – Time Out Melbourne
