Brisbane Pride Fair Day 2016

Brisbane Pride March editorialBrisbane Pride Fair Day returns to New Farm Park this Saturday (17 September) and is shaping up to be bigger and better than last year. The day will kick off with the traditional Pride Rally and March down Brunswick Street to New Farm Park – where gates will open from 11.00 am.

First held in 1990, the Brisbane Pride Rally and March was a call for justice and equality for the burgeoning gay and lesbian community in Brisbane. As various battles for equality have been won, the events have transitioned from a purely political event to an inclusive and joyous family-friendly event that attracts thousands of people each year.

The Brisbane Pride Fair Day is your chance to come and celebrate #MadeWithPride. An incredible selection of food stalls and an array of market and community stalls will be on offer to delight, entertain and inform you. Entertainment throughout the day will feature local and national talent including Ryan Amador, Joel Creasey, Raja, Silver Circus, Bertie Page CLINIC, Brisbane’s best DJs and the traditional Pet Parade.

Then as the day comes to an end, The Brightside sets the scene for the FAIR PLAY after Fair Day Party. Hosted by POOF DOOF & GiRLTHING, entertainment from 5.00pm includes DJ Argonaut (MELB), NatNoiz (SYD), Cunningpants (SYD), with local legends, Sullivan and Sophie Luna, plus more super performances to be announced.
