Geelong Pride Film Festival 2026

QS-MGFF-JimpaRunning until Sunday 10 May, the 2026 Geelong Pride Film Festival features a bold program of curated collections, shorts and feature film selections.

Highlights of the 2026 program this year include the premiere of US lesbian film Drip Like Coffee where an intimate connection between two Brooklyn baristas leads to a life-changing transformation, and the lesbian feature film documentary 3000 Lesbians Go to York that chronicles the largest gathering of LGBTQ+ women in the UK.

John Lithgow and Oscar winner Olivia Colman star in Jimpa, Sophie Hyde’s funny and heartfelt tale of a queer family reunion, as three generations of an Australian family reconvene in Amsterdam, while art and passion collide on an isolated isle in the simmering romance, Portrait of a Lady on Fire.

Russell Tovey and Tom Blyth star in Plainclothes – the Sundance award-winning drama follows a promising undercover officer assigned to lure and arrest gay men who defies professional orders when he falls in love with a target, while Adnan, a young art student who has arrived in New York City to flat-sit for the summer, has a series of unexpected intimate encounters in Drunken Noodles.

In a close-knit Welsh coastal town where everyone knows everyone else’s business, intimacy becomes both a refuge and a risk, On The Sea is a quietly aching portrait of masculinity under pressure, where desire surfaces not as escape, but as something hard-won and deeply human.

An extensive selection of approximately 40 short films will be screened across six collections. Locally made and international short films will feature in the Gender Frontiers – a collection exploring the lives and experiences of transgender, gender diverse, and non-binary people.

Other programs include Lesbian Shorts and Gay Shorts. The GPFF finale of Happy Endings will feature comedy short films and films with positive and uplifting outcomes for characters.

The Geelong Pride Film Festival continues to Sunday 10 May 2026. For more information and program, visit: www.gpff.ferve.tickets for details.
