Stephanie Dogfoot stars in Gold Star Bisexual

Stephanie-Dogfoot-stars-in-Gold-Star-BisexualWhat makes someone a Gold Star Bisexual? Singaporean comedian Stephanie Dogfoot isn’t quite sure either, but join them as they try to figure it out in an hour in their Melbourne Fringe debut, Gold Star Bisexual, at The Motley Bauhaus, from 13 – 18 October 2025.

Gold Star Bisexual is a show about coming out, coming of age and trying to be the Most Valid Bisexual in history told through stand up, storytelling and really well-made PowerPoint slides.

Stephanie realised they were bisexual when they were 12 years old and developed crushes on both an altar boy and a netball player at the same time. Gold Star Bisexual is the true story of everything that happened next.

It’s the journey of one queer nerd searching for acceptance and validation in all the wrong places, from girl’s schools in conservative Singapore in the 90s, to radical queer houses in London in the 2010s, to lesbian poetry covens.

It’s a story about desirability, embarrassing first times, awkward threesomes, stick insects, a life-changing beach rave and lengths we will go to try and be normal people.

“I started to write this show because I was trying to make sense of all the strange things I’ve gone through while coming out, and needed a socially acceptable way to overshare,” said Stephanie.

“Then I realised making jokes about these things makes the memories less painful, and if I’m lucky maybe these stories might make at least one other bisexual people feel less alone.”

Gold Star Bisexual has been in development since 2023, and has been performed in Kuala Lumpur and to sold-out audiences in Singapore.

Stephanie Dogfoot is an award-winning spoken word poet, comedian and cabaret performer and a Singapore and UK poetry slam champion. They are also the founder of Siao Char Bors Comedy, Singapore’s longest running queer feminist comedy night.

Stephanie was the first runner-up in Singapore’s 1st Roast Tournament in 2019 and has been described as “anecdotal and raunchy” (Bakchormee Boy) and “please try not to embarrass us” (younger sister).

Stephanie’s eight years in stand-up have seen them perform everywhere from Bangkok to New Orleans, from ice cream parlours to Singapore’s National Gallery.
