The show of the year for drag lovers, science nerds, and all folks across the LGBTQIA+ and STEM spectra, The Drag Experiment takes over the Powerhouse Museum on Thursday 17 August, as part of Science Week.
Headlined by four phenomenal people who are scientists by day and drag performers by night. You’ll be dazzled with show-stopping drag performances interwoven with scientific concepts and research.
Hosted by Dr Naomi Koh Belic, your resident bimbo biologist and flaming homosexual. The worlds of art and culinary science collide in Radha, who will be cooking up a storm. Lee Constable, science communication extraordinaire for The Conversation and previously for Scope will be introducing you to Milton MANgo, a country bloke who cracks a whip.
You’ll get to meet Dyan Tai, the gaysian empress of Sydney and legend behind Worship Queer Collective who will conduct a live music experiment, and Diva Attenbra, wildlife biologist at UNSW, drag performer and comedian who will be teaching you about gay animals – after all it’s only natural.
These drag scientists will join a panel discussion so you can ask questions and get to know them for the glittering people they are; both in and out of drag. Best of all, you get to vote to crown the ultimate drag scientist.
The Drag Experiment will be a safe stigma-free space where you’ll be dazzled with knowledge and leave with a hunger for drag and science.
