Origami “Folding Art & Sound” is back – louder, lusher and more luminous than ever. This award-winning boutique festival returns for one night only on Saturday 12 April, transforming Gosford’s iconic Edogawa Japanese Garden into an electrifying sensory wonderland of music, art and light.
Now in its third year, Origami has cemented its place as a trailblazer on the Australian festival landscape. In 2024, it became the first Central Coast event to win a Business NSW State Award, taking out Outstanding 24-Hour Economy Collaboration for its bold fusion of culture, nightlife, and community.
With 20% of attendees travelling from outside the region, Origami is not only drawing local crowds but attracting growing attention beyond the Central Coast – beating out major Sydney players like Luna Park’s After Dark.
Described as “if Vivid and Dark Mofo had a love child,” Origami blends contemporary festival energy with hypnotic light projections, cutting-edge performance art, and genre-defying live music. It’s part garden rave, part immersive art dreamscape – a wild mix of high energy and deep connection, designed for dancing, discovery, and everything in between.
Creative Director Glitta Supernova calls it “a soft rebellion in a hard world.” She explains, “As the large-scale, cookie-cutter festival model starts to show its cracks, Origami offers something softer, joyful, and deeply human – intimate but powerful.”
“It’s a space for connection, joy, and getting loose under the stars without losing your soul. A place where art, music, and nature invite us to slow down and truly feel the moment,” said Glitta Supernova.
This year’s line-up brings the fire. Legendary DJ duo Stereogamous (Paul Mac & Jonny Seymour) return to ignite the garden with euphoric beats. Visual sorcerers St Luc transforms the landscape with 3D light projections.
Marcus Whale weaves genre-bending sonic rituals, while Putrika delivers soulful vocals layered over deep electronic textures. Expect surreal performance art from Justin Shoulder, movement fusion from Fetu Taku, and boundary-pushing drag from Matt Format.
The evening kicks off with a not-to-be-missed avant-garde costume parade at sunset, then flows into a full night of dancing, dreaming and deliciousness. A curated menu of handmade Sichuan dumplings and bao buns will be on offer – alongside a fully licensed bar and happy hour specials.
Bring a blanket or festival chair and set up a home base – but don’t be surprised if the dance floor pulls you in. Origami 2025 is a fully accessible event. Doors open at 5.00pm. This is a strictly no BYO event. Tickets are limited to preserve the magic – they always sell out!
