From the masterminds behind Blanc de Blanc (2016), Cantina (2010) and the Helpmann Award-nominated Limbo Unhinged (2017), Strut & Fret premieres the brand-new, high-end cabaret spectacle, Blanc de Blanc Encore with an all-star international cast at the Sydney Opera House this Summer.
A refined blend of vintage French glamour, risqué humour, spectacular aerials, comedy, dazzling dance numbers and acrobatics will transform the Studio with opulent, cheeky, edge-of-your-seat theatre.
From bold burlesque to captivating cabaret, expect big moves, great tunes and more than a few surprises from the highly talented international register of artists including singer Ashley Stroud (Postmodern Jukebox), aerial artist Reed Kelly (Cirque du Soleil’s Paramour) and aerial hoop duo Caitlin Tomson-Moylan & Spencer Craig (Cirque du Soleil’s Paramour).
Also featured is Australian dancer, Laura New (Blanc de Blanc), dancer and burlesque artist Skylar Benton, circus artist Remi Martin Lenz (Limbo Unhinged), contortionist Uugantuya ‘Ugi’ Otgonbayar (The Greatest Showman) and crowd-favourite original Blanc de Blanc cast member Spencer Novich.
This fresh production features choreographer-to-the-stars Kevin Maher (whose clients include Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez and Jason Derulo), with set and lighting design by Philip Gladwell (Magic Mike London, Magic Mike Las Vegas and Very Very Dark Matter).
“I wanted to push the music element even further in Encore and was looking for performers who were an absolute triple-threat. I also wanted to further blur the lines between artist and audience,” said Scott Maidment, Founding Director of Strut & Fret.
“Returning to the production is incredible choreographer Kevin Maher and set & lighting design again by Philip Gladwell. We’re turning the dial up on the original with this brand new show Blanc de Blanc Encore.”
Blanc de Blanc Encore is a party and you’re invited to observe the theme – vintage white with a dash of sparkle.
