Origami 2026: Two Nights of Light, Music and Immersive Art in Gosford

After three consecutive sold-out years and a 2024 Business NSW Award, the beloved boutique festival is stepping into a bold new chapter – inviting audiences deeper into its dreamlike world where nature, creativity and community intertwine.

Set within the tranquil Edogawa Japanese Gardens, Origami has become one of the Central Coast’s most immersive cultural experiences – often described as “if Vivid and Dark Mofo had a love child.” At the heart of the experience is a powerful visual collaboration, with ST.LUC Visuals leading light and projection design across both nights.

Known for delivering large-scale immersive works from Vivid to international light festivals, the team crafts a breathtaking fusion of light, story and digital artistry across the garden landscape.

In 2026, the experience unfolds across two distinct nights, beginning with the debut of Origami Kids on Friday – a playful, light-filled adventure for families – before evolving into the iconic adults-only art party on Saturday. Together, they create a full-circle festival experience that invites both wide-eyed wonder and late-night release.

On Friday 10 April, Origami Kids transforms the gardens into a glowing playground of imagination, where families wander illuminated pathways, encounter curious roaming creatures and dive into interactive discovery.

As night falls, DJ SpinR-REX ignites the dancefloor with a high-energy kids rave, while Spaghetti Confetti bring their technicolour live music show – bursting with music, laughter and participation that inspires the next generation of performers.

Throughout the evening, Zero Central Circus and Ray Matthews weave moments of awe through aerial artistry and playful object manipulation. Roving performers – from curious insects to friendly dragons – wander the gardens sparking imagination, alongside bubbles, face painting and sensory experiences designed for families to explore together.

Stereogamous bring their unmistakable energy to the decks, with a global reputation for igniting euphoric dance floors from Glastonbury to Burning Man, blending underground club culture with pop. Live music performances from Heart Armour and YO OO YA add emotional depth to the night, layering ambient, experimental sounds and poetic storytelling into the garden’s sonic journey.

Across the site, performance unfolds in unexpected places. International circus performer Empress Stah brings a provocative edge, while Ray Matthews returns delivering hypnotic, fire-like flow states through technical object manipulation. Infernal Desire Machine pushes boundaries further with a visceral, shibari-based performance exploring ritual, power and connection.

Guests are invited to move freely – dancing in the Japanese Pavilion disco, discovering hidden performances or settling into quiet moments beneath illuminated trees. With limited capacity and a focus on intimacy, Origami offers a slower, more connected alternative to large-scale festivals.

As Gosford continues to evolve as a cultural destination, Origami stands as a glowing symbol of what’s possible when creativity, community and place come together.

Whether arriving with family or stepping into the night, Origami 2026 invites audiences into a world of light, sound and shared wonder. Bring your festival seating and settle in comfort – food and bar offerings will be available across both nights.
