Über-award-winning superstar Bernie Dieter and her menagerie of misfits and mischief-makers are returning to Sydney for a strictly limited season of Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett from 8 October 2026.
Led by the undisputed punk kabarett provocateur, Bernie Dieter, this show plunges you into an immersive night at a secret Berlin club. Featuring Bernie’s immense vocal talent alongside her hot live haus band, and showcasing a dizzying collection of the most exceptional artists in the world, from hair-hanging to fire-breathing, unique, gender bending aerials to toe-curling contortionists, this is a night out you will never forget.
Returning to Sydney directly from a successful return season in Edinburgh, Bernie Dieter has been described as an electrifying cross between Lady Gaga, Marlene Dietrich and Frank-N-Furter in sequins, and has cemented herself as one of the standout cabaret artists of her generation.
Born in Köln (Germany’s Carnival city) and channeling her Oma’s (Grandmother’s) many stories of life in a travelling circus in East Germany before the Berlin wall came down, Bernie has created the ultimate modern kabarett club.
She has performed for sold out audiences all over the world with her own shows Little Death Club and Berlin Underground as well as being the first ever female EmCee of infamous Olivier Award-winning variety show La Clique.
She has toured sold out shows around Europe, Japan, Singapore and London’s West End, created mayhem in Spiegeltents and warehouses all over Australia, headlined BBC’s TV show Live at the Electric, appeared on NBC America and has been heard on the airwaves of BBC 1, 2 & 4.
Inspired by the Weimar republic’s dens of iniquities, gender bending sexual freedom and celebration of difference at a time of political turmoil that feels frighteningly relevant again today, Club Kabarett is a glorious celebration of humanity. A space where all punks, freaks and weirdos can come out to play, with no fourth wall, no rules, and no seat safe.
