An unflinching and unexpectedly humorous look at masculinity, sexuality and power, Bacon by Sophie Swithinbank will be presented at the Meat Market Stables: 5 – 21 October, as part of the 2023 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Mark is new and too scared to make friends. Darren is out-of-control and too scary to make friends. The two need each other but neither of them would ever admit it.
Worlds apart, but more similar than they realise, the pair form a complex and manipulative relationship that leads them blindly into a dangerous experiment that alters the course of both their lives.
Sophie Swithinbank is an award-winning playwright and screenwriter, based in London. Her works include Circle Game, Even In Arcadia, The Fellowship, Where There Is Smoke, Come Inside and The Superhero. Sophie’s new play Surrender opens this year. She is an Associate Lecturer in Playwriting at Northampton University.
