Diana Ross is the ultimate entertainer who has blazed a trail of glory across decades. Her unparalleled vocal artistry, genre-defying style, on-stage glamour and unstoppable creative force continue to rewrite popular culture.
Ms Ross rose to global prominence as the leader of The Supremes, shattering records with hits like Where Did Our Love Go, Stop! In the Name of Love and You Can’t Hurry Love. As a solo artist, she continued to break boundaries with timeless classics including Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, Upside Down, The Boss, Touch Me in the Morning, Endless Love and I’m Coming Out.
Her artistic essence transcends music, with a profound influence on fashion, stage, film and television. A recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and American Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award, Ms Ross is a legend in every sense.
Created and presented by Black Peach Touring, the new concert series is the first major project from founders and directors Jessica Ducrou and Elise Huntley, who each bring more than 30 years of experience in Australia’s live music industry.
“Diana Ross is an absolute icon and to have her choose Sydney Summertime for her only Australian show, one night only in Centennial Park, on the eve of Mardi Gras is exactly the kind of unforgettable moment we created this series for. It’s going to be something very special,” said Jessica Ducrou and Elise Huntley, Co-Founders and Directors of Black Peach.
“Diana Ross is one of the most iconic performers in music history, with a career spanning decades and a catalogue of hits loved by generations of fans. To have an international superstar of her calibre headline at Sydney Summertime for an Australian-exclusive performance is a major coup for NSW,” said Minister for Jobs and Tourism Steve Kamper.
“Events like this are a powerful driver of tourism. They bring more visitors to our state, generating economic benefits for local businesses and jobs, and reinforce NSW’s reputation as a destination for world-class live music and entertainment.”
Audiences attending Diana Ross Freedom In Motion at Sydney Summertime will be able to choose from a range of concert experiences, including General Admission, Gold Circle, The Grove VIP Village, The Terrace and Corporate Suites. Beyond the stage, guests can enjoy Sydney restaurant pop-ups, food trucks, bars and hospitality offerings throughout Centennial Park.
Diana Ross is the third international headliner announced for Sydney Summertime’s inaugural 2027 season, following The Strokes and Kings of Leon. Presented by Black Peach, the series will bring major international artists to Centennial Park for their own standalone concerts across February and March 2027.
