For the last three weeks, organisers of Red Hot: Down Under have been scouring Australia and New Zealand for gorgeous ginger haired men to feature in a new photographic exhibition celebrating redhead fellas – that’s showing at Sydney’s Deutscher and Hackett Gallery from 3 – 14 December 2014.
The final of the Red Hot: Down Under Model Search will take place on Sunday 30 November in the glamorous surrounds of Sydney’s Slide Lounge on Oxford Street – with up to seven flame-haired finalists setting the stage on fire as they strut their stuff (in jeans and swimwear) for an exclusive audience of just 250 Red Hot lovers.
Over 130 men from both countries have entered the Red Hot: Down Under Model Search and will compete to be the local star of the Red Hot: Down Under Exhibition plus $7000 in cash and prizes.
Photographer, Red Hot creator and Model Search judge Thomas Knights will be joined at the event by the face of the Red Hot project, Danish model Ken Bek, to meet guests and sign copies of the Red Hot book and merchandise.
Hosted by hilarious drag star Verushka Darling, the event will also feature entertainment from a line-up of hot red-headed talent including Brendan Irving (The Rocky Horror Show, Risque Revue), Rob Johnson (Sondheim on Sondheim), Ben Hudson (Love Never Dies) and Elise McCann (Everybody Loves Lucy, South Pacific).
Tickets are a bargain at just $15 with all proceeds going to the ENDING HIV Red Ribbon Appeal which aims to raise awareness about and funds for ending HIV transmission and HIV-related discrimination. To vote for your Red Hot favourite, visit: www.facebook.com/RedHotDownUnder
