ACON’s popular fundraiser Disco Bingay is moving to a new day. The weekly bingo event upstairs at The Midnight Shift on Oxford Street, Darlinghurst is moving from Tuesday night to Thursday night following operational changes at the venue. The start time of 7:30pm remains the same.
Bingay hostess Charisma Belle will continue to oversee the madcap proceedings and Bingay’s long time barrel babe Naomi Palmer will continue to spin the balls and sing up a storm.
Disco Bingay is gay bingo which means there’s classic disco tunes, weird rules and penalties, outrageous antics, hilarious repartee, deliciously lewd bingo calls, and prizes that range from the silly and camp to great theatre tickets and restaurant vouchers.
The event is also a fundraiser for ACON – NSW’s leading community-based HIV and LGBTI health organisation. ACON Events Coordinator David Wilkins says the Bingay team is looking forward to their new late week slot.
“Thursday is a popular night for going out on Oxford St and we’re looking forward to providing LGBTI community members and their friends with a unique and hugely entertaining way to kick off their evening.” says Wilkins.
“For those who have never been to Bingay, or haven’t been for a while, the night has never been better. The wonderfully funny hosts, the Shift’s production values and a fantastic volunteer team make for a fabulous night out…and all done and dusted by 10.00pm which leaves plenty of time for some extra fun.
Disco Bingay is held every Thursday night upstairs at The Midnight Shift Hotel – 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start and costs just $20.00 for all games. For more information and bookings, visit: www.acon.org.au/bingay
