Kaleidoscope Australia, a not-for-profit organisation working to promote and protect the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people in the Asia Pacific region, has launched its first fundraising campaign with an appeal for support, via video (see below), from Patron Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG.
Dr Paula Gerber, President of Kaleidoscope Australia stated: “Up to now we have achieved some significant milestones through the kind financial support of several undisclosed individuals.”
“In order to help local activists in the Asia Pacific region to change laws and societal attitudes we now need the support of the Australian community.”
“The community support we have received in the six months since Kaleidoscope Australia was established make us confident that there are many Australians who are willing to donate funds to help LGBTI people in our near neighbours achieve lives of dignity and equality.”
