Join the Ukulele Dream Girl at the 2021 Feast Festival

Phi-Theodoros-Self-Isolation-SongbookAfter somehow being busier than ever during the pandemic the Ukulele Dream Girl is excited to close an epic year with two shows at Diverse-City as part of the Feast Festival this Pridevember.

Rainbow Dreams
Friday 12 November
Join the Ukulele Dream Girl and her friends on a journey of connection, identity and acceptance in a variety show like no other. Featuring Cabaret, Circus, Spoken Word & more this show will warm your rainbow heart and leave you with a renewed sense of pride.

Guests include circus from Sam Matthewman (Vertical Insanity Circus, GOM, Circobats), Dance from Kym Mackenzie (Restless Dance, No Strings Attached, True Ability), spoken word from July Pilowsky (Activist, Polyglot, PHD Student at Adelaide University) and a new band the “Ukutheydies” featuring young people from Feast’s Queer Youth Drop In.

Self Isolation Songbook
Saturday 27 November
After being impacted by the 2020 Circuit breaker lockdown & being offered as a livestream only, the Ukulele Dream Girl is excited to bring this show back one more time for a special in-person performance including an optional ukulele workshop before the show.

Are you feeling hyper stimulated, over connected, zoomed out and anxious from the outside in? Self-isolation’s been a hell of a time. Join the journey of connection and hyper attention, preservation and privilege. Songs and poems from the early COVID era from a socially distant stage. Hi, my name is the Ukulele Dream Girl and welcome to my TED Talk.

Phi Theodoros aka the Ukulele Dream Girl is a storyteller who weaves music and poetry together to share stories & shift stigmas. As an Arts Worker, Phi understands the transformative power of the creative.

As an artist, she understands the power of stories and shares these with music to open conversations and challenge social stigma. Armed with a ukulele, a voice fit for cabaret and a heart filled with compassion, she’s waiting to take you on a journey.

Rainbow Dreams and Self Isolation Songbook will be presented at Diverse-City, Grote Street, Adelaide. Doors open at 6.00pm for pre-show dinner with shows beginning at 8.00pm. For more information, visit: www.feast.org.au for details.
