Experience, create and celebrate at the Victorian Pride Centre this June with a jam-packed program of Pride Month events. Featuring cabaret, comedy, creative workshops, movie screenings, classical music performances, and more.
Australia’s purpose-built home for LGBTIQ+ communities is excited to be celebrating Pride Month with a host of events taking place throughout the Victorian Pride Centre.
Their program is designed to create opportunities for social connection, spark meaningful conversations, and encourage active participation through engaging and interactive workshops and classes. Highlights include:
Creative Workshops:
Queer Social will be hosting three incredible workshops allowing you to practice new skills between creating a collage, painting with watercolours, or learning about the art of Shibari. These events are a perfect mix of getting creative while connecting with members of the community.
The team from Gay Life Drawing are also back following their sold-out Midsumma Festival event with an inclusive events allowing adults to partake in self-expression, enjoy a drink, and draw live models, in a friendly safe space.
Live Performance:
Cheers, Queers and T4T: A Transgender Showcase are back for round two! Cheers, Queers is our fabulous stand-up comedy showcase with a different queer line-up every night, while T4T celebrates trans performers of multiple disciplines.
Cabaret star Dolly Diamond will be launching her brand new show Dolly Diamond’s Rather Large Variety Hour at the VPC for Pride Month, before taking it on the road to London and Edinburgh. Be the first to see Dolly and her guests right here at the Pride Centre!
Classical music lovers can’t afford to miss ANAM does Pride where exceptional young musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music will be performing pieces by Mozart and Ewald. This event is also an important fundraiser for the Victorian Pride Centre.
Community and Connection:
A special Sunday Sizzle, sponsored by Yarra Trams, will be taking place on Sunday 4 June. Expect great tunes, fun times, and a drag show or two! As always, Sunday Sizzle is free!
Spill the Tea will also be returning for an afternoon of tea, coffee, cake, and social connection. This time we’ve even asked the Melbourne Gay & Lesbian Chorus to join us for beautiful performances in the Forum.
VPC welcomes back the Trans & Gender Diverse Clothes Swap. Come and discover new apparel in a safe, inclusive environment, and don’t forget to bring your old clothes to swap if you like!
These are only some of the events being held at the Victorian Pride Centre this June as part of Pride Month, so be sure to view the full program of events. The Victorian Pride Centre can’t wait to celebrate a month-long celebration of diversity, creativity, and community!
