It has been a long, tiring journey for Hannah- from coming out as a lesbian to the even lengthier process of healing the destructive shame that lingers like an unrelenting, misogynistic fart. And on the back of WorldPride and an unhealthy amount of self-help books, this profoundly honest and infectious show was born.
Big Dyke Energy is about pride, shame and redefining strength; but don’t fooled by the title, BDE is a show for anyone who has ever felt like they were scared to reveal their whole self in a world where the goalposts are constantly shifting.
Laugh along as Hannah brazenly explores the pressures of being a queer woman in 2023 and an embarrassing tale about that time she cat-fished her ex. Big Dyke Energy will make you laugh, think, then spread your legs and take up all the available space on the tram ride home.
Hannah is an acclaimed writer, performer, video-maker and graduate of NIDA’s post-graduate playwriting program and was the Winner of AACTA’s 2022 Comedy initiative AACTALMAO supported by META studios. She is also the creator of critically acclaimed sell out Festival shows, Bushpig and The Jacobeans.
