Apocrypha (review)

Oozing Future Adam Malone in Apocrypha photo by 3 Fates MediaOozing Future’s Apocrypha offers a captivating blend of circus and comedy, seamlessly intertwined with avant-garde theatre to deliver a unique and mesmerising performance.

Directed by Mitch Jones, the production explores thought-provoking themes such as desire, counterculture, and social isolation. The audience is drawn into a surreal world of poetic unease, where bold acrobatic feats and understated physical storytelling evoke deep emotional undertones.

Jones’s direction creates a space where performers, Chloe Fazikas, Rindi Harradine, Adam Malone, Kristian Santic and Kyall Shanks, not only push physical limits but also tap into raw, intimate narratives.

Chloe Fazikas’ contortion work and Adam Malone’s spinning hula hoops, pleasing highlights.

Gina Gascoigne’s subtle, but effective lighting design maximises Romanie Harper’s minimalist yet evocative design. Bridget Chappell’s brilliant composition and sound design underscores the work with a haunting poetic tone.

Oozing Future’s Apocrypha is a dynamic and deeply immersive theatrical experience that should not be missed.
