ChillOut Festival returns to Daylesford this March

Chillout-Festival-ParticipantsChillOut Festival is bringing the magic back and transforming Victoria’s Central Highlands into Queer Country in one of Australia’s largest and much-loved LGBTIQA+ events from 4 to 8 March 2021.

The 24th ChillOut Festival promises ten days of fabulous events joyfully curated to bring vibrancy and colour, headlined by much-lauded Mo’Ju with a multi-genre live musical set at the majestic Hepburn Pavilion Ampitheatre.

2021 will also see the festival debut of the award-winning podcast and live storytelling project Queerstories, with host and director Maeve Marsden, Rainbow Storytime with DiAlysis, and a must-see, must-hear in-conversation event with 2021 ChillOut Festival Ambassador, Patricia Karvelas.

The diverse program also includes visual arts and exhibitions, tours, wellbeing events, family activities, picnic days with DJ sets, Serving in Silence exhibition at the Convent and the massive virtual (and COVID-safe) Pride Parade 0n Sunday 7 March.

“We’ve carefully curated a festival that offers something for everyone: music, comedy, theatre, talks, tours and a whole lot of queer community pride. Reflective storytelling and activations are only part of it,” said Michele Bauer, Festival Director. “ChillOut 2021 is a time for renewal and joy. There’s never been a more important time for festival fans to get back to Daylesford and celebrate the arts and queer pride.”

To celebrate the strength of the LGBTIQA+ community, festival-goers are invited to gather at Lake Daylesford on 3 March to participate in the planting of 30 trees creating a Grove of Gratitude – an initiative to honour past and present community members, with a special ceremony to follow. ChillOut Festival is an all-inclusive, family-friendly event celebrating the diversity and positivity of the LGBTIQ+ community.
